OBJECTIVES INCLUDE INCREASING THE NUMBER OF PARENTS ACTIVE IN THE COALITION, ASSURING 100% OF RETAILERS AND SERVERS RECEIVE RESPONSIBLE BEVERAGE SALES/SERVICE TRAINING, AND DECREASING THE NUMBER OF ADULTS WHO SAY THEY WOULD ALLOW UNDERAGE DRINKING. BY THE END OF THE PROJECT PERIOD THE COALITION EXPECTS TO HAVE SERVED AT LEAST 100 TEACHERS, ADMINISTRATORS, AND SUPPORT STAFF AT OOLOGAH-TALALA PUBLIC SCHOOLS; 800 ADULTS/PARENTS (21 AND OLDER); AND 1,000 PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS. ANNUALLY, IT IS EXPECTED THAT WE CAN REACH ALL SCHOOL STAFF, THREE-FOURTHS OF THE STUDENTS IN GRADES 4-12, AND 200 (UNDUPLICATED) PARENTS. THE STOP ACT OBJECTIVES ARE ALIGNED WITH THE COALITION'S NEED TO PROVIDE SPECIALIZED INFORMATION, COORDINATE AN ADULT PEER-PRESSURE CAMPAIGN, ENSURE ALL RETAILERS AND SERVERS ARE LICENSED/TRAINED, AND INCREASE THE COALITION'S CAPACITY TO IMPLEMENT UNDERAGE DRINKING STRATEGIES THAT CAN CHANGE THE SOCIAL NORM IN THE OOLOGAH-TALALA SCHOOL DISTRICT.

THIS GRANT SUPPORTS THE COSTS INCURRED TO IMPLEMENT MEASURES TO RESPOND TO THE NOVEL CORONAVIRUS 2019 (COVID-19), WHICH MAY INCLUDE WORKPLACE SAFETY, MARKET PIVOTS, RETROFITTING FACILITIES, TRANSPORTATION, WORKER HOUSING, AND MEDICAL EXPENSES. IT PROVIDES NEEDED RELIEF TO THE FOOD PROCESSORS, DISTRIBUTORS, FARMERS MARKETS, AND PRODUCERS FOR THEIR COSTS INCURRED BETWEEN JANUARY 27, 2020, THE DATE UPON WHICH THE PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICE (HHS) UNDER SECTION 319 OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE ACT, AND DECEMBER 31, 2021. BENEFICIARIES INCLUDE THE EMPLOYEES OF THE FOOD PROCESSORS, DISTRIBUTORS, FARMERS MARKETS, AND PRODUCERS.
