POPULATION TO BE SERVED: GEORGIANS WHO ARE 1) PEERS, OR PEOPLE WHO ARE IN RECOVERY FROM MENTAL HEALTH DISORDERS, AND 2) FAMILIES, CAREGIVERS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS IN CONTACT WITH ARMED SERVICES PERSONNEL, VETERANS, AND THEIR FAMILIES, WHO MAY BE EXPERIENCING POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER, TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY, AND OTHER MENTAL DISORDERS THAT MAY IMPAIR DAILY FUNCTIONING. STRATEGIES/INTERVENTIONS: NAMI GEORGIA WILL PROVIDE ITS TTT WORKSHOPS, WHICH ARE TAUGHT BY STAFF-SUPERVISED, STATE-CERTIFIED PEER TRAINERS FOR MEMBERS WHO WILL LEAD NAMI CONNECTIONS SUPPORT GROUPS, FAMILY SUPPORT GROUPS, PEER-TO-PEER, FAMILY-TO-FAMILY, AND IN OUR OWN VOICE, PREPARING FACILITATORS TO LEAD GROUPS BY EDUCATING THEM ON THE NAMI STRUCTURED MODEL, NAMI PRINCIPALS OF SUPPORT, AND GROUP DYNAMICS. GOALS/MEASURABLE OBJECTIVES: GOAL 1: TRAIN 160 INDIVIDUALS ANNUALLY (800 TOTAL) TO RECOGNIZE THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF MENTAL DISORDERS, PARTICULARLY SMI AND SED. OBJECTIVE 1.1: DEVELOP A MARKETING PLAN TO TARGET THE POPULATION OF FOCUS BY MONTH 1. OBJECTIVE 1.2: SCHEDULE, PROMOTE, AND CONDUCT 16 TRAINING SESSIONS ANNUALLY (80 TOTAL) IN PARTNERSHIP WITH NAMI GEORGIA AFFILIATES.
