THIS PROJECT FOCUSES ON THE NORTHEAST FLORIDA COUNTIES OF BAKER, BRADFORD, DUVAL, CLAY, NASSAU, AND ST. JOHNS. SPECIFIC NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED UNDER THIS APPLICATION ARE THOSE NECESSARY TO AFFIRMATIVELY FURTHER FAIR HOUSING IN THE JACKSONVILLE MSA, FOCUSING ON ADVANCING HOUSING JUSTICE: FORTIFYING SUPPORT IN HOUSING DISCRIMINATION AND HOUSING JUSTICE, AND ADDRESSING AFFIRMATIVELY FURTHERING FAIR HOUSING FOR VULNERABLE POPULATIONS AND UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES THROUGH TESTING, ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS, PARTNERSHIPS, AND OUTREACH/EDUCATION; ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED: ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED STATEMENT OF WORK ACTIVITIES AND TASKS WILL MEET THE SPECIFIC FAIR HOUSING NEEDS IDENTIFIED FOR THE TARGET AREA. PURPOSE: A. PURPOSE ADVOCATES WORK DIRECTLY WITH THE TARGETED POPULATION OF HOUSING CONSUMERS AND THE LOCAL NON-PROFIT COMMUNITY TO AFFIRMATIVELY FURTHER FAIR HOUSING BY: 1) PROVIDING EDUCATION, COUNSELING, AND LEGAL ADVICE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC ABOUT THEIR FAIR HOUSING RIGHTS AND REGULATIONS; 2) PROVIDING LEGAL ASSISTANCE TO OTHER AGENCIES AND ORGANIZATIONS TO ENFORCE FAIR HOUSING AND FAIR LENDING LAWS; 3) INVESTIGATING POSSIBLE VIOLATIONS AND ENFORCEMENT PURSUANT TO OTHER STATE AND FEDERAL LAWS THAT ACCOMPANY SUSPECTED FAIR HOUSING VIOLATIONS; 4) CONDUCTING OUTREACH TO MARGINALIZED POPULATIONS REGARDING FAIR HOUSING AND IMPEDIMENTS TO HOUSING; 5) COLLABORATING WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS; AND 6) EDUCATING GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES, LOCAL REAL ESTATE AND CONSTRUCTION COMPANY EMPLOYEES, AND PRIVATE ATTORNEYS REGARDING PROVISIONS OF THE FAIR HOUSING ACT. THIS PROJECT FOCUSES ON THE NORTHEAST FLORIDA COUNTIES OF BAKER, BRADFORD, DUVAL, CLAY, NASSAU, AND ST. JOHNS. SPECIFIC NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED UNDER THIS APPLICATION ARE THOSE NECESSARY TO AFFIRMATIVELY FURTHER FAIR HOUSING IN THE JACKSONVILLE MSA, FOCUSING ON ADVANCING HOUSING JUSTICE: FORTIFYING SUPPORT IN HOUSING DISCRIMINATION AND HOUSING JUSTICE, AND ADDRESSING AFFIRMATIVELY FURTHERING FAIR HOUSING FOR VULNERABLE POPULATIONS AND UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES THROUGH TESTING, ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS, PARTNERSHIPS, AND OUTREACH/EDUCATION; ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED: ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED STATEMENT OF WORK ACTIVITIES AND TASKS WILL MEET THE SPECIFIC FAIR HOUSING NEEDS IDENTIFIED FOR THE TARGET AREA. SERVICES WILL INCLUDE DEDICATED AND TARGETED OUTREACH TO MINORITY COMMUNITIES INCLUDING AFRICAN AMERICANS IN THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER DELTA, MARSHALLESE/PACIFIC ISLANDER IN NORTHWEST ARKANSAS, LATINX POPULATIONS ACROSS THE STATE, AND COMMUNITIES RECOVERING FROM THE 2023 TORNADO DISASTER.
