NBJC IS UNIQUELY POSITIONED, AS THE NATION?S ONLY CIVIL RIGHTS ORGANIZATION WORKING AT THE INTERSECTION OF RACIAL EQUITY AND LGBTQIA+ EQUALITY, TO LEVERAGE CDC MESSAGES AND MATERIALS TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF BLACK LEADERS AND ORGANIZATIONS THAT SERVE AND SUPPORT BLACK COMMUNITIES, ENGAGED IN EFFORTS TO INCREASE HIV/AIDS AWARENESS AND STIGMA REDUCTION. SINCE 2003, NBJC HAS PROVIDED LEADERSHIP AT THE INTERSECTION OF NATIONAL CIVIL RIGHTS GROUPS AND LGBT ORGANIZATIONS. NBJC HAS SPENT NEARLY THE LAST DECADE TESTING AND IMPROVING WAYS TO DISSEMINATE CDC INFORMED MESSAGES AND MATERIALS IN WAYS THAT HAVE RESULTED IN MEANINGFUL AND MEASURABLE SHIFTS IN CONVERSATIONS ABOUT AND ACTIONS CONCERNING HIV/AIDS IN DIVERSE BLACK COMMUNITIES. NBJC BRINGS VOICE, TAKES ACTION AND BUILDS NETWORKS TO EMPOWER BLACK LGBTQ+/SGL PEOPLE TO BE CREDIBLE AGENTS OF POSITIVE CHANGE, WORKING TO IMPROVE THE SOCIAL, POLITICAL, AND OVERALL HEALTH AND WELLNESS OF THE BLACK LGBTQ+/SGL COMMUNITY. NBJC WILL UTILIZE ITS ESTABLISHED NATIONAL REACH THROUGH EARNED MEDIA, SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS, GRASSROOTS NETWORKS AND COLLABORATIVE PARTNERSHIPS, IN ORDER TO SUPPORT THE CDC?S LET'S STOP HIV TOGETHER EFFORTS TO DISSEMINATE HIV PREVENTION MESSAGING AND COMMUNICATION WITHIN BLACK COMMUNITIES?PARTICULARLY AMONG MSM AND TRANSGENDER WOMEN?AND TO IMPLEMENT NATIONAL ENGAGEMENT EFFORTS THAT FOCUS ON HIV PREVENTION, AWARENESS, TESTING, AND CARE.
