BRIDGEHAVEN CENTER FOR PEER EXCELLENCE: STATEWIDE CONSUMER NETWORK FOR KENTUCKY'S MENTAL HEALTH PEER WORKFORCE - BRIDGEHAVEN’S CENTER FOR PEER EXCELLENCE (CPE) WILL STRENGTHEN KENTUCKY’S STATEWIDE MENTAL HEALTH PEER WORKFORCE BY EXPANDING TRAINING, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, AND PEER ENGAGEMENT ACROSS ALL 120 COUNTIES. THE PROJECT WILL DEVELOP A STATEWIDE PEER WORKFORCE CAPACITY-BUILDING PLAN, ENHANCE CPE’S ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY, INCREASE PEER REPRESENTATION IN BEHAVIORAL HEALTH POLICY, AND SUPPORT RECRUITMENT, RETENTION, AND CAREER ADVANCEMENT FOR PEER SUPPORT SPECIALISTS. KEY ACTIVITIES INCLUDE EVIDENCE-BASED WORKFORCE TRAINING, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS, LEADERSHIP AND ADVOCACY DEVELOPMENT, EXPANSION OF CONTINUING EDUCATION RESOURCES, AND CREATION OF PEER WORKFORCE TOOLS AND CAREER PATHWAYS. THE INITIATIVE AIMS TO BUILD A SUSTAINABLE, HIGH-QUALITY PEER SUPPORT WORKFORCE, STRENGTHEN PEER VOICE IN MENTAL HEALTH SYSTEMS, AND IMPROVE ACCESS TO RECOVERY-ORIENTED BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES STATEWIDE.
