THE LITTLE LOOMHOUSE WILL ORGANIZE, DIGITIZE, AND IMPROVE THE STORAGE OF ITS COLLECTIONS. THE MUSEUM WILL WORK WITH A CONSULTANT TO TRAIN STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS TO IMPLEMENT THE DIGITIZATION PLAN. STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS WILL COMPLETE COMPREHENSIVE COLLECTIONS INVENTORIES AND CREATE CATALOG RECORDS DESCRIBING CONTENT, CREATORS, DATES, AND THEMES TO IMPROVE COLLECTIONS MANAGEMENT AND ENABLE THE PUBLIC TO LOCATE MATERIALS OF POTENTIAL RESEARCH INTEREST. THE CONSULTANT WILL ALSO CONDUCT A PRESERVATION ASSESSMENT TO IDENTIFY MATERIALS AT RISK OF DETERIORATION AND OVERSEE ARCHIVAL REHOUSING AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF CUSTOM STORAGE SOLUTIONS. FINALLY, THE MUSEUM WILL IMPLEMENT A MULTIMEDIA PUBLIC OUTREACH CAMPAIGN USING PUBLIC RADIO BROADCASTS, PRINT NEWSLETTER ARTICLES, POSTCARD INVITATIONS, AND SOCIAL MEDIA UPDATES TO PROMOTE THE PROJECT AND ITS OUTCOMES. PROJECT RESULTS WILL INCLUDE INCREASED USE OF THE MUSEUM’S ARCHIVES, NEW PUBLICATIONS CITING THE MUSEUM’S COLLECTIONS, CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE NATIONAL DISCOURSE ON TEXTILE ARTS AND AMERICAN HAND WEAVING, AND GREATER REPRESENTATION OF KENTUCKIANS AND WORKING-CLASS CREATORS.
