THE PURPOSE OF THIS GRANT IS TO PROVIDE ARP RESOURCES TO EXPAND THE PROJECTS WORK IN THE AREA OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND SCHOOL READINESS. TO DO THIS, SOUTH CAROLINA FIRST STEPS WILL PERFORM THE FOLLOWING HIGH-LEVEL ACTIVITIES: EXPAND CAPACITY BUILDING SERVICES FOR SOUTH CAROLINA FIRST STEPS PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS. THIS WILL BENEFIT LOW INCOME, RURAL, AND UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES SERVING PARTNERSHIP ORGANIZATIONS THROUGHOUT SOUTH CAROLINA'S 46 COUNTIES. GENERAL EXPECTED OUTCOMES INCLUDE HAVING 1000 CHILDREN DEMONSTRATE GAINS IN SCHOOL READINESS. THIS AMENDMENT REVISES THE BUDGET TO INCLUDE $50,000 IN ARP FUNDING. ALL OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS AWARD REMAIN UNCHANGED.

CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE SURVIVOR SERVICES WILL ENHANCE CULTURALLY AND LINGUISTICALLY RESPONSIVE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SERVICES FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN AND HISPANIC/LATINA SURVIVORS AND THEIR CHILDREN. - THE PROGRAM SUPPORTS SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT THROUGH SAFETY, HEALING, EMOTIONAL WELLBEING, AND ACCESS TO CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE SERVICES. THE PROGRAM ALSO HELPS PROTECT LIFE, STRENGTHEN FAMILY STABILITY, AND SUPPORT NON-ABUSIVE PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS IN PROMOTING SAFE AND NURTURING ENVIRONMENT FOR CHILDREN. OBJECTIVES INCLUDE PROVIDING SERVICES FOR SURVIVORS; SUPPORT FOR ORGANIZATIONS TO PROMOTE STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND COLLABORATION IN RESPONDING TO THE IMPACT OF PUBLIC HEALTH CONCERNS ON SURVIVORS; AND INCREASING ACCESS TO AND IMPLEMENTATION OF EVIDENCE-INFORMED INTERVENTIONS FOR CHILDREN, INDIVIDUALS, AND FAMILIES IMPACTED BY THE VIOLENCE.
