PLEASE PROVIDE A ONE-PARAGRAPH SUMMARY (4--6 SENTENCES) OF YOUR PROPOSED VISTA PROJECT THAT INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: * A DESCRIPTION OF YOUR ORGANIZATION'S MISSION * THE CNCS PROGRAMMING PRIORITY AREA THAT YOUR PROJECT ALIGNS WITH * A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPOSED PROJECT GOAL(S), INCLUDING WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM THE PROJECT * THE NUMBER OF VISTAS AND LEADERS (IF APPLICABLE) YOU ARE REQUESTING AND AN OVERVIEW OF THE MAJOR ACTIVITIES THEY WILL PERFORM * THE ESTIMATED TIME REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT -- THE MISSION OF THE CHATTANOOGA AREA FOOD BANK IS TO LEAD A NETWORK OF PARTNERS IN ELIMINATING HUNGER AND PROMOTING BETTER NUTRITION IN OUR REGION. THE PROPOSED VISTA PROJECT ALIGNS WITH THE HEALTHY FUTURES FOCUS AREA. THE VISTA PROJECT WILL SEEK TO SCALE THE FOOD BANK PROGRAMS AND CAPACITY TO DISTRIBUTE AT LEAST 15 MILLION POUNDS IN FY20 AND EXPECTS TO PROVIDE 10 ORGANIZATIONS WITH CAPACITY BUILDING SERVICES. FIVE VISTA MEMBERS WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE GOALS OF THE PROJECT BY PERFORMING ACTIVITIES TO SCALE AND IMPROVE THE EFFICIENCY OF FIVE PROGRAMMATIC AND OPERATIONAL AREAS: DEVELOPMENT, FOOD DONATIONS, MOBILE PANTRY DISTRIBUTIONS, AGENCY PARTNER CAPACITY, AND SUMMER AND AFTERSCHOOL FEEDING. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE EXPANDING AND STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIP NETWORKS, EXPANDING THE DIVERSITY OF THE FOOD BANK'S FUNDING STREAM, DEVELOPING PROGRAM MATERIALS, ASSESSING THE RESULTS OF PROGRAMS, ENHANCING PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT AND DELIVERY, AND DEVELOPING TECHNOLOGY-DRIVEN SOLUTIONS FOR ORGANIZATIONAL EFFICIENCY. THE PROJECT PERIOD IS 12 MONTHS.
