SOME OF THEIR ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE: * DELIVERING HOT, NUTRITIOUS MEALS TO HOMEBOUND ELDERLY AND DISABLED INDIVIDUALS; * SERVING IN COMMUNITY MINISTRY SITES TO ASSIST THE LOW-INCOME POPULATION TO MEET THEIR FOOD AND HOUSEHOLD NEEDS; * SERVING AT THE VETERANS ADMINISTRATION FACILITY; * WORKING WITH OUR LOCAL HABITAT FOR HUMANITY AFFILIATES TO CONSTRUCT OR RENOVATE HOMES, WITH THE GOAL OF SEEING LOW-INCOME FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS MOVED INTO DECENT, AFFORDABLE HOUSING; * VOLUNTEERING AT OTHER NON-PROFIT COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS. THE PRIMARY FOCUS AREA OF THIS PROJECT IS HEALTHY FUTURES. AT THE END OF THE THREE-YEAR GRANT, 958 HOMEBOUND OLDER ADULTS OR HANDICAPPED INDIVIDUALS WILL HAVE RECEIVED MEALS TO ALLOW THEM TO REMAIN IN THEIR HOMES AND 5,000 INDIVIDUALS WILL BE SERVED THROUGH LOCAL AGENCIES ADDRESSING THE NEEDS OF LOW-INCOME FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS. THE CNCS FEDERAL INVESTMENT OF $52,312 WILL BE SUPPLEMENTED BY $12,500 LOCAL SUPPORT (PROJECTED TO BE RECEIVED ANNUALLY) AND $11,960 IN-KIND OFFICE SPACE (PROJECTED TO BE RECEIVED ANNUALLY).
