COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDING/CONGRESSIONALLY DIRECTED SPENDING - CONSTRUCTION - ROBERT WOOD JOHNSON UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL (RWJUH) IS AN AFFILIATE OF RWJBARNABAS HEALTH (RWJBH), NEW JERSEY’S MOST COMPREHENSIVE ACADEMIC HEALTH CARE SYSTEM. THIS REQUEST IS ON BEHALF OF RWJUH’S NEW JACK AND SHERYL MORRIS CANCER CENTER. THE JACK AND SHERYL MORRIS CANCER CENTER WILL BE NEW JERSEY’S FIRST FREESTANDING CANCER HOSPITAL. THE 12-STORY FACILITY WILL HOUSE INPATIENT, OUTPATIENT AND ANCILLARY SERVICES, AS WELL AS STATE-OF-THE-ART LABORATORIES WHERE RESEARCH FACULTY CAN PROVIDE HANDS-ON EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS, AND ENABLE PHYSICIAN-SCIENTISTS TO TRANSLATE SCIENTIFIC FINDINGS DIRECTLY TO PATIENTS. FUNDS REQUESTED WILL BE USED SOLELY FOR MOVEABLE EQUIPMENT TO BE HOUSED AT THE MORRIS CANCER CENTER.
