FOSTERHOPE SACRAMENTO'S ECOSYSTEM FOCUSES ON THE WHOLE YOUTH INCLUDING INTERSECTIONS OF IDENTITY, CULTURES, HISTORIES OF OPPRESSION CONTRIBUTING TO SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES. WE USE A TRAUMA INFORMED APPROACH IN THE WORK WE DO WITH THESE YOUTH TO HELP STABILIZE THEM. THIS FUNDING WILL BE USED TO PROVIDE CRITICAL MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES TO YOUTH IN THE FOSTER CARE AND JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM. THROUGH THE PROVISION OF WRAP AROUND SERVICES, FHS USES A HEALTH EQUITY LENS THAT CONNECTS SOCIAL PROBLEMS TO HISTORICAL EVENTS CAUSING GENERATIONAL AND CHILDHOOD TRAUMA. SPECIFIC COSTS WOULD INCLUDE FUNDING FOR STAFF; YOUTH AND FAMILY SUPPORT WORKERS, WHO WORK WITH THE INDIVIDUAL CHILD OR FAMILY TO PROVIDE ASSESSMENT, SUPPORT, AND GUIDANCE AS WELL AS CONNECTING YOUTH TO PROSOCIAL ACTIVITIES.
