IN ADDITION, IT ENHANCES COMMUNITY TRUST, AND REDUCES AGENCY AND MUNICIPALITY LIABILITY. BY ASSISTING THESE AGENCIES TO ACCOMPLISH ACCREDITATION, OUR MISSION IS TO HELP ADVANCE LAW ENFORCEMENT PROFESSIONALISM, AND HELP IN MAKING SAFER COMMUNITIES. IT IS AACP AND ALEAPS GOAL TO MAKE STATE ACCREDITATION MORE ACCESSIBLE FOR ARKANSAS AGENCIES THAT ARE LIMITED IN RESOURCES AND TO PROMOTE PROFESSIONALISM AND ACCOUNTABILITY WITHIN THE LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMUNITY. IF AWARDED THE GRANT, OUR FUNDING WILL GO TO COVER EXPENSES RELATED TO ACCREDITATION BY MAKING TRAINING AVAILABLE TO THE AGENCIES, SOFTWARE EXPENSES, ASSISTANCE WITH THE ADOPTION OF THE AACP POLICIES, SOME BUILDING MATERIAL EXPENSES AND CREATING A MENTOR PROGRAM THAT WILL BE AVAILABLE TO AGENCIES WITH ALL ASPECTS OF THE PROCESS. THE AACP AND ALEAP WILL MARKET THE ACCREDITATION PROGRAM BY SEVERAL DIFFERENT METHODS. THE GRANT APPROVAL WOULDBE BROADCAST AT THE 56TH ANNUAL AACP CONFERENCE IN HOT SPRINGS, AR SEPTEMBER 24TH-26TH, 2024. WE NORMALLY HAVE OVER 200 POLICE CHIEFS AND COMMAND STAFF OFFICERS THAT WILL ATTEND DURING OUR GENERAL SESSIONS. DURING OUR AWARDS BANQUET ATTHE CONFERENCE, WE ACKNOWLEDGE OUR NEWLY ACCREDITED AND RE-ACCREDITED AGENCIES WITH THE PRESENTATION OF A BEAUTIFUL PLAQUE/CERTIFICATE AND WE WOULDANNOUNCETOTHE ATTENDEES THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEEK ASSISTANCE FROM ALEAP AND TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOAL OF BEING ACCREDITED AND OBTAINING THEIR OWN PLAQUE/CERTIFICATE.
