UNITED WAY OF EL PASO COUNTY'S MISSION IS TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF EL PASO FAMILIES THROUGH THE CARING POWER OF COMMUNITY. THE PROPOSED VISTA PROJECT ALIGNS WITH THE ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY, EDUCATION AND HEALTHY FUTURES FOCUS AREAS. THE VISTA PROJECT WILL SEEK TO INCREASE FINANCIAL STABILITY, HOUSING-RELATED ASSISTANCE FOR ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED FAMILIES, PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT-RELATED ASSISTANCE, INCREASE STUDENT SUCCESS, AND INCREASE AWARENESS OF HEALTH CARE COVERAGE OPTIONS TO GAIN ACCESS TO PREVENTIVE AND PRIMARY HEALTH CARE SERVICES IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES. MORE THAN 2,000 LOW-INCOME FAMILIES WILL BENEFIT FROM THE PATHWAYS TO SUCCESS EL PASO VISTA PROJECT. SEVEN (7) VISTA MEMBERS WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE GOALS OF THE PROJECT BY PERFORMING ACTIVITIES SUCH AS RECRUITING AND TRAINING VOLUNTEERS, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND LOGISTICS, COMMUNITY DATA ANALYSIS, AND INCREASING PROGRAM SUSTAINABILITY, OVER THE COURSE OF 3 YEARS.
