THE PURPOSE OF THIS AGREEMENT, BETWEEN THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, NATURAL RESOURCES CONSERVATION SERVICE (NRCS) AND MAINE F OODSCAPES (RECIPIENT), IS TO ENHANCE AND EXPAND ITS FOODSCAPES GARDEN PROJECT. THIS INITIATIVE BUILDS AND SUPPORTS BACKYARD AND COMMUNITY GARDENS IN SOUTHERN MAINE, FOSTERING URBAN AGRICULTURE, CONSERVATION, AND COMMUNITY RESILIENCE. THROUGH INCREASED TECHNICAL AS SISTANCE, EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH, AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, RECIPIENT AIMS TO EMPOWER SOCIALLY DISADVANTAGED POPULATIONS AND ENHANCE CONSERVATION PRACTICES.
