PROJECTS SELECTED FOR COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDING/CONGRESSIONAL DIRECTED SPENDING ARE LISTED IN THE JOINT EXPLANATORY STATEMENT (JES) THAT ACCOMPANIES A SPECIFIC FISCAL YEAR’S APPROPRIATIONS ACT OR CONGRESSIONAL RECORD. THE JES LISTS PROJECT, RECIPIENT, STATE, AMOUNT AND CONGRESSIONAL SPONSOR.; ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE, COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDING/CONGRESSIONALLY DIRECTED SPENDING AWARD PROJECTS INCLUDE A WIDE VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES THAT RESULT IN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OUTCOMES. UNITED WAY OF SOUTHERN NEVADA'S MISSION IS TO UNITE THE COMMUNITY TO IMPROVE PEOPLE'S LIVES. THE PROPOSED VISTA PROJECT ALIGNS WITH THE EDUCATION FOCUS AREA. THE VISTA PROJECT WILL SEEK TO DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT RESULT -DRIVEN, COST EFFECTIVE SOLUTIONS THAT SUPPORT STUDENTS FROM CRADLE TO CAREER. BY IMPLEMENTING THE RESULT DRIVEN SOLUTIONS OVER 1,000 STUDENTS WILL BE GREATLY BE AFFECTED. 10 VISTA MEMBERS WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE GOALS OF THE PROJECT BY PERFORMING ACTIVITIES SUCH AS CREATING INFLUENTIAL PROGRAMS AND OR TRACKING TOOLS TO MONITOR STUDENT SUCCESS OVER THE COURSE OF 12-36 MONTHS.
