CENTRAL COAST COMPREHENSIVE SEX EDUCATION COLLABORATIVE (CSEC) - CENTRAL COAST COMPREHENSIVE SEX EDUCATION COLLABORATIVE (CSEC) IS A SYSTEMS-BASED TEEN PREGNANCY PREVENTION (TPP) INITIATIVE WITH THE OVERARCHING GOAL IS TO (1) IMPROVE SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH OUTCOMES; (2) PROMOTE POSITIVE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AND EMPOWERMENT; AND (3) ADVANCE HEALTH EQUITY AND INCLUSIVITY FOR ADOLESCENTS, THEIR FAMILIES, AND COMMUNITIES THROUGH REPLICATION OF MEDICALLY ACCURATE AND AGE-APPROPRIATE EVIDENCE-BASED TEEN PREGNANCY PREVENTION PROGRAMS IN THE RACIALLY, ETHNICALLY, AND SOCIO-ECONOMICALLY DIVERSE AND HISTORICALLY UNDERSERVED CALIFORNIA CENTRAL COAST COUNTIES OF VENTURA, SANTA BARBARA, AND SAN LUIS OBISPO. THROUGH CSEC, PPCCC TRAINED COMMUNITY HEALTH EDUCATORS WILL BE DEPLOYED TO UNDERREACHED AREAS OF THE TRI-COUNTY CENTRAL COAST REGION, DELIVERING EVIDENCE-BASED CURRICULA THAT TARGETS LATINX ADOLESCENTS AND TEENS AND THEIR FAMILIES AND LGBTQIA+ YOUTH AND THEIR FAMILIES WITH AN INTEGRATED LENS OF POSITIVE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT. THREE SETTINGS ARE TARGETED FOR THE PROJECT: (1) EDUCATIONAL (AFTERSCHOOL), (2) COMMUNITY-BASED, AND (3) HEALTH CARE. PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT/TRAINING WILL FORM THE CORNERSTONE OF DELIVERING A SEAMLESS NON-DUPLICATIVE SYSTEM WORKING TO IMPROVE ADOLESCENT AND TEEN SEXUAL HEALTH OUTCOMES IN THE REGION AND TO ORGANIZE AND ENHANCE THE SYSTEM-WIDE APPROACH TO SERVING DIFFICULT TO REACH POPULATIONS INCLUDING THE MANY IMMIGRANT AND MIGRANT FARMWORKER FAMILIES IN THE AREA. THE PROJECT WILL ASSESS AND SELECT AT LEAST TWO EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES (EBP)-BASED CURRICULA TO IMPLEMENT ACROSS THE THREE SETTINGS AND SERVE 2,900 PARTICIPANTS.
