COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDING/CONGRESSIONALLY DIRECTED SPENDING - CONSTRUCTION - OPEN DOOR COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS (ODCHC) OPERATES THREE DENTAL OFFICES AND TWO MOBILE VANS. ONE OF THESE OFFICES IS BURRE DENTAL CLINIC, A STAND-ALONE 16 OPERATORY DENTAL CLINIC IN EUREKA, CALIFORNIA. THE PROJECT PROPOSES TO REMODEL AN ADJACENT LEASED SPACE TO ADD 6 ADDITIONAL DENTAL OPERATORIES AND THE ASSOCIATED STAFF WORK AREAS AND INFRASTRUCTURE TO SUPPORT THE EXPANDED ACCESS VISITS. THE REMODEL WILL ALLOW FOR THE EMPLOYMENT OF TWO ADDITIONAL DENTISTS AND FOR THE NUMBER OF DENTAL RESIDENTS TRAINED AT THE LOCATION TO BE INCREASED FROM 2 TO 3 PER YEAR. THE EXPANSION WOULD SUPPORT AN ADDITIONAL 8,000 VISITS PER YEAR, WITH INCREASED ACCESS TO BE FOCUSED ON CHILDREN'S DENTAL HEALTH IMPROVEMENT
