THE COALITION FOR NONPROFIT HOUSING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT'S MISSION IS TO FOSTER JUST AND EQUITABLE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SOLUTIONS THAT ADDRESS THE NEEDS AND ASPIRATIONS OF LOW- AND MODERATE-INCOME DISTRICT RESIDENTS BY CONVENING, ADVOCATING, AND EDUCATING DIVERSE STAKEHOLDERS. THE PROPOSED VISTA PROJECT ALIGNS WITH THE AMERICORPS VISTA ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY PROGRAMMING PRIORITY. THE VISTA PROJECT WILL SEEK TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF DISTRICT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVING CAPACITY BUILDING SERVICES SPECIFICALLY FOCUSING ON CREATING ANTI-POVERTY PROGRAMS AND EXPECTS TO BENEFIT ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED INDIVIDUALS IN ALL EIGHT WARDS OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA. 10-12 VISTA MEMBERS WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE GOALS OF THE PROJECT BY PERFORMING ACTIVITIES SUCH AS STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION, RESIDENT AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, AND COALITION-BUILDING OVER THE COURSE OF THE NEXT YEAR.
