BECAUSE OF ITS CHARITABLE MISSION, ALLINA HEALTH PROVIDES THESE HEALTH CARE SERVICES AS WELL AS EDUCATIONAL AND WELLNESS PROGRAMS TO COMMUNITY MEMBERS REGARDLESS OF THEIR ABILITY TO PAY FOR THE SERVICES. IN 2024, ALLINA HEALTH PROVIDED $1,316,232,969 IN COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTIONS SUCH AS DIRECT FINANCIAL SUPPORT, IN-KIND DONATIONS, FREE AND REDUCED-COST MEDICAL CARE AND SERVICES, AND FUNDING FOR PUBLIC HEALTH PROGRAMS.

COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDING/CONGRESSIONALLY DIRECTED SPENDING - CONSTRUCTION - UPON COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT, PATIENTS FROM SHAKOPEE, SCOTT COUNTY, AND MINNESOTA WILL HAVE ACCESS TO SEVERAL NEW OR EXPANDED MENTAL HEALTH AND ADDICTION TREATMENT SERVICES. THIS INCLUDES: • ADULT PARTIAL HOSPITALIZATION PROGRAM. THIS PROGRAM WILL SERVE ADULTS AND ALLOW INDIVIDUALS TO SLEEP AT HOME AND ATTEND DAY PROGRAMS AT THE NEW FACILITY FOR 6 HOURS PER DAY. PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ADMITTED BY A PSYCHIATRIST, RECEIVE PSYCHIATRIC NURSING CARE, AND TAKE PART IN GROUP AND INDIVIDUAL THERAPY. THE AVERAGE LENGTH OF TREATMENT IS 15 DAYS. THIS SETTING IS OFTEN USED AS A DIVERSION FROM AN INPATIENT PSYCHIATRIC STAY, AND A WAY TO ASSIST INDIVIDUALS GRADUALLY RETURNING TO THE COMMUNITY FOLLOWING AN INPATIENT STAY. • ADULT INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM. ADULTS OFTEN STEP DOWN FROM THE PARTIAL HOSPITALIZATION PROGRAM INTO THIS LEVEL OF CARE. SERVICES ARE PROVIDED 3 DAYS A WEEK, 3 HOURS A DAY OVER A 2 TO 6 MONTH PERIOD. THE TREATMENT IS PROVIDED IN BOTH INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP THERAPY SETTINGS. • ADULT INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT ADDICTION SERVICES. THIS PROGRAM IS LICENSED BY THE STATE OF MINNESOTA TO PROVIDE INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT ADDICTION TREATMENT. THIS PROGRAM SPANS 3 TO 6 MONTHS AND TREATS BOTH MENTAL ILLNESS AND ADDICTION USING A DUAL-DIAGNOSIS APPROACH. THE AVERAGE LENGTH OF STAY IN THIS PROGRAM IS 3 MONTHS, AT ABOUT 9 HOURS PER WEEK. THE GOAL AND ULTIMATE BENEFIT OF THIS PROJECT IS TO ADDRESS THE RAPIDLY INCREASING DEMAND FOR MENTAL HEALTH AND ADDICTION SERVICES FACING OUR COMMUNITIES.
